responsible party

Endemic (“we”, “us”) is an independent studio based in Cape Town, South Africa, and is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, as contemplated by South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). For anything relating to this policy or to data we hold about you, contact studio@endemic.info.

what we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us. When you submit the contact form on this site, we receive:

• Your name or organisation
• Your email address
• The type of work you select and the message you write

No accounts are required to browse or to contact us, and we do not build advertising or behavioural profiles. Where we build a private application for a client (such as an internal workspace), the data entered into that application is stored in infrastructure owned and controlled by the client, and is governed by that client’s own arrangement, not by this site policy.

how we use it

Information you submit is used solely to respond to and scope the enquiry you started: replying to you, discussing potential work, and continuing that conversation. It is not added to marketing lists, sold, or used for any purpose unrelated to your enquiry.

third parties who process data

We do not sell your data. To run this site and reply to you, a small set of third-party services may process limited data on our behalf:

• Formspree: receives and delivers contact-form submissions to us by email.
• Our website host: serves the site and may log standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation.
• Google Fonts: serves the typefaces used on this site, which means your browser requests font files from Google.

Each of these processes data only to the extent needed for the function above, under its own privacy terms. None of them is given your data for advertising or resale.

how long we keep it

We keep enquiry data only as long as it is needed for the conversation it relates to, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email studio@endemic.info or use the contact form, and we will action it promptly.

If you believe your information has been handled improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
